Statement
of Faith
This is what we believe...
1) That
the Bible is the complete, inspired Word of God
and that it is inerrant and final in authority;
2) That
there is one God, the Creator of all things,
revealed in the Bible as three persons: God the
Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the
Holy Spirit;
3) That
mankind was created directly by God, but by
disobedience of God's Word became sinners.
Therefore all people are condemned to eternal
punishment and cannot save themselves;
4) That
Jesus Christ is God, co-equal with the Father.
That He became a man, born of a virgin, that He
might personally bear the penalty for sin that
God's righteousness demanded. He qualified to
bear this penalty by living a sinless life which
culminated in His substitutionary death on the
Cross. God demonstrated His acceptance of
Christ's sacrifice by physically raising Him from
the dead three days later;
5) That
any individual can have their sin forgiven (and
escape its penalty - spiritual death and eternal
separation from God) by repenting of their sin
and placing their faith and trust in the Lord
Jesus Christ and His substitutionary death for
them;
6) That
individuals placing their faith and trust in the
Lord Jesus Christ are then indwelt and taught by
the Holy Spirit who desires to control them for
God's glory and the believer's good, and making
them eternally secure;
7) That
there is one Church, the Body of Christ, composed
of all who are saved through faith in Christ and
indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and that Christ is
the only head of this, His Church;
8) That
individual members of The Church should gather
together in local groups to observe the
ordinances given by Christ to His Church and
engage in worship, prayer, teaching and
fellowship for mutual growth and edification;
9) That
the local fellowship of believers is only until
the Lord fulfills His promise to personally
return and gather all believers to Himself for
eternity; and
10) That
until He comes, all believers should live in this
world to know Christ and to make Him known to
others.
