 The
Salt Spring Island Hostel is located in the Gulf Islands, midway
between the two British Columbia cities of Vancouver, on the mainland
and Victoria on Vancouver Island.
The hostel itself is located at the midpoint of the island and has easy walking access to Cusheon Lake for swimming or fishing and to the ocean beach at Beddis Beach. Both of these walks are between 20 and 25 minutes long. Our property is surrounded by tall cedar and fir trees and is bounded on two sides by Cusheon creek, which is a gentle stream in the summer and waterfall in the spring.
 The
ACCOMMODATION
at the hostel is as varied as the beautiful surroundings. In
the Lodge you have a choice between a two bed dorm
and a four bed mixed dorm. There are two private rooms each with
a double bed, ensuite shower and washroom. Families with children
can only stay in the Family Tree House. There is an Adult Tree
House and private Gypsy Caravan for couples.
Everyone
is welcome to use our fully equipped kitchen to prepare their
meals and to enjoy the complimentary tea and coffee. The living
room has a warm homey feeling, with it's wood burning stove and
comfortable sofas. It is the scene of many good games of Monopoly
and chess in the evenings. In the evenings, there is usually a
camp fire outside the hostel. It is also a good time to watch
the stars and planets in the clear country air or to go for an
evening walk to lake or ocean beach.
 Our
newest romantic creation is our horse drawn GYPSY CARAVAN.
Enjoy a romantic evening for two in our new
Gypsy Caravan. It is built with the traditional English Gypsy
Caravan colours of red & yellow with antique wheels to match.
Inside, the lovely double bed is built into the back of the caravan,
creating a cosy feeling complete with big comfy duvets and lace
curtains to draw across the opening of the bed. The opening windows
have a view of the forest. The caravan is fully insulated and has
heating & lovely antique lighting. There are also wicker chairs
, a table, and velvet pillows with tassels which give it that true
gypsy flavour. This accommodation is very popular for honeymooners

 Stay
in our spectacular "Adult
TREE HOUSE". An
octagonally shaped tree house, it is located a short walk from
the main hostel building. The sense of being in the middle of
a beautiful forest is awe inspiring.
The tree house sleeps 2 adults with a double bed, wicker table and chairs, 4 opening windows and a skylight. It is 12 feet across with the large cedar tree going right through the middle of the room. With an electric heater it is fully insulated and very cozy. The shower and washroom are one minute walk away in the main lodge.
Winnie the Pooh and Owl and the rest of his friends just love this home in the trees.

Tree house!
This wonderful tree house
continues to be very popular, especially with families. A child's
dream come true of living in Winnie the Pooh's house. It
features a beautiful spiral staircase, octagonal
design and a wonderful location in the midst of tall
cedar trees, yet with ample sunlight. The tree house
sleeps 4 comfortably with a double bed and two single beds. For
the children their beds are made up with Winnie the Pooh sheets,
comforters and stuffies. There is comfortable wicker furniture inside. A dutch
door opens to your own private deck and chairs outside. The shower
and washroom are one minute walk away in the main lodge. Check

Cancellation
Policy
1. We have
a 48 hour cancellation policy for bookings of 1 - 3 days. The
deadline is by 9:00 a.m. two full days prior to your arrival
date.
2. Any reservation for 4
days or more is a 1 week cancellation policy. The deadline is by
9:00 a.m. seven full days prior to your arrival
date.
3.
Any Long weekend has a 2
day minimum and is a 2 week cancellation
policy.
4. We do not book
Groups.
5. Any
reservation that is cancelled after the due date will be charged on
your Credit Card or when you arrive.
